PORTFOLIO - A2 DESIGN
For the final synoptic project of the double design award a level i decided to have a go at textile design. I decided to design the textiles for an existing dress pattern with the main inspirations being Alexander Mcqueen and traditional japanese art and design. For my research i visited the Japanese department of the V&A. I experimented with textile design techniques, including ancient japanese tie dye methods called Shibori. The final outcome was a linen and chiffon dress.

PORTFOLIO - A2 FINE ART
The first project of the second year of the fine art course was based around the brief Personal Development. After briefly addressing the subject of the human figure in the first year, i decided to base this project on the human figure. I was inspired by artist Egon Schiele because of the emaciated appearance of his figures. I wanted my work to be purely about the figure and not about personality so i always focused on the body rather than the face of the figures that i worked with. Towards the end of this project i began to focus on hands as i was inspired by the stylised way Schiele drew hands.
